Educator. Author.

Daniel Nash is a higher education student affairs professional, specialized in media and publishing. He has been the adviser to the University of Washington Tacoma’s student newspaper, the Ledger, and literary arts journal Tahoma West, since 2017. Before then, he was a reporter and editor for various small community newspapers in the Western Washington region.

Daniel’s education philosophy is based in the work of William Zinsser, and specifically his book “Writing to Learn.” In it, Zinsser examined liberal arts institutions that included writing requirements in their non-English academic programs, even those in STEM.

“Writing is thinking on paper.”
